Material from Simron and Dede

Second presenter in teaching and learning strategies was Simron Tuke. Simron was present the material about Managing Teaching and Learning, or usually called MTL. Managing teaching and learning is one of the most important activities for principals and other school leaders to manage and improve the students knowledge and develop. Simron told us that were three fundamental requirements. First one was Principal or the headmaster. Four management factors that the principal have to do : (1) the regulation of time, (2) monitoring curriculum planning and delivery, (3) the procurement and management of books and stationery, (4) quality assurance of tests and the monitoring of result. Second one was School Management Teams (SMTs), and the third one was Heads of Department (HoDS). Simron also told us that the middle leaders should lead teaching and learning through :
1. modelling and leading by example,
2. monitoring,
3. dialogue, and
4. setting up structures and systems.
Simron did the presentation well. He used his own word in the power point, so we can understand the meaning of the material easier. Simron just not move around in the classroom. He just stand in front during he presented the material. Simron does not point the audiences directly when the audience was so noisy and busy with themselves. There were three questions for Simron. The questions was from Ayu Mirawati, Nila Septikasari and Yuni Endrasari. Simron answer all of the question as good as he can.

Third Presentation was Dede Krisna. Dede was presented the material about Teaching and Learning Strategies. Dede told us that there were elements need to be present.
1. Engage : teachers try to make the students interest, thus involving their emotions. The teacher can do game, discussion and simulating pictures.
2. Study : Students are asked to focus in on language and how it is constructed. Some typical areas for study might be : - study and practice of the vowel sound in ship and sheep, - study and practice in inviting patterns.
3. Activate : Students using language as freely and communicatively as they can. The teacher can do debate and discussion, describe and draw, story and poem writing in the classroom during the teaching and learning process. Dede told about straight arrows and boomerang procedure. In straight arrows, between engage, study, and activate was in one straight line. In boomerang procedure, the teacher is answering the needs of the students. Dede did the presentation very well. He makes the atmosphere in the classroom happy. Sometimes he moving around, and point the students or audiences directly when they were so noisy. He explained the material clearly with his own word. There were also three questions for Dede. The questions was from Wulan , Dessy and Edi. Dede can answer the question well, with his own word, so we can understand well.
After they finished their presentation, Mr. Agus gave some comments and suggestions for the presenter.

The Diary of Presentation in V D Class (Material from Soca)

September 22nd, 2014
That was the first time in V D class did the presentation in Teaching and Learning Strategies. There were three presenter : (1) Soca Pradnyasari, (2) Simron Tuke, (3) Dede Krisna. The class was start from 06.00 p.m. till 08.00 p.m. But I came late at that time about ten minutes, because at six o'clock I was still in my work. But I already sent the message to my lecturer that I will come late. Hopefully my lecturer read my short message. I left behind some of the material that already presented by Soca.
Soca was present the material about cognitive learning variations. Soca said that, in cognitive learning variations, we will learn about :
1. types of learning,
2. signal learning,
3. stimulus-response
4. chaining
5. verbal assosiation
6. multiple discrimination
7. concept learning
8. principle learning,
9. problem solving.

Soca told us that cognitive variations divided into four terms, they were :
1. transfer,
2. interference,
3. generalization,such as : - inductive reasoning,
                                       - deductive reasoning,
                                       - simplification
4. over generalization, like : - past tense regulation,
                                          - negativication,
                                          - indirect sentence.
During did the presentation, Soca only stand in front of the class, without any gestures and body movement. Soca spoke slowly, so I can not hear clearly what Soca said during she explained the material. After Soca done to explain the material, there was only one question for Soca. The question was from Ayu Sriasih. Ayu Sriasih asked Soca to explain more about specific meaning and give the example about that.  But, Soca can not answer the question. Soca said that she do not understand the material that she presented, especially in that part. So, Mr. Agus asked Soca to explain the part of the material which was already understood by Soca using her own words. Unfortunately, Soca also can not to explain another part of the material.  I think, Soca less to read the material before she do the presentation. And she less to use her own language in the material, so that she less understand about the language that she took from internet. Because she took a long time to stay in front of the class, Mr. Agus called the next turn to do the presentation.
