Last presentation from Yuni and Wulan

On 5 January 2015, the last presentation was performed by Yuni Endrasari and Wulan Lestari Dewi. They were presented the material about Reflecting Strategies. Reflecting Strategies consist of four strategy. They are Reflective Questions, Thought Shapes, 3-2-1 Reflect, and Unfinished Sentences. As usual, before the presentation was started, we were praying together in the class. After that Yuni and Wulan explain the strategy together. The first strategy was reflective questions. In this strategy, Yuni and Wulan invited us to be students in Second Grade of Senior High School. They did greeting first. Then they asked us how many kind of text there are. But, the students can't explain all kind of text. Then Yuni and Wulan gave us topic about narrative text. They did brainstorming first to the student about what they know about narrative text, before they invited some volunteers to share their past experiences. After some of students shared their past experiences, then the teacher asked all of the students what they have learned during teaching and learning process.
The second strategy was thought shapes. In this strategy, Yuni and Wulan asked us to be students in first grade of Junior High School and they taught about time. They taught how to express time in some ways. Then, they gave some exercises and asked students to answer that exercises . After some students were be able to answer the exercises, then the teachers asked students to make some groups and that consist of four students and gave every group some paper shapes. In every paper shapes contain one question. Every member of the group have to answer one question in the paper shape. After all of the groups finished to answer all of the questions, every group have to share their answer in front of the class.
The third strategy was 3-2-1 Reflect. In this strategy, Yuni and Wulan asked us to be students in third grade of Senior High School. Then, Yuni and Wulan were showing a video. They gave us some questions about the video, then answer the questions in one piece of paper. After all of the students finished to write their answer, Yuni and Wulan invited some students to share their answer in front of the class. Next, they gave some conclusion about the video.
Last strategy that they presented was unfinished sentences. In this strategy, Yuni and Wulan asked us to be students is first grade of Senior High School. In this strategy, Yuni and Wulan used material about describing people. They invited some volunteer to describe one of their friend in front of the class. The other students have to guest who are the person. In the last time, Yuni and Wulan invited one students to come in front of the class. That students named Novi have too keep one thing in her mind, then the other students have to give some clues to be asked to Novi until Novi say yes, and the answer is true. In the last, Yuni and Wulan gave the students about the given material.
Then, in questions session, Simron asked one question. Yuni and Wulan were be able to answer his question.
I think their presentation was good, and Mr.Agus also said that their presentation was good that they combined some strategies inside. Mr.Agus only saw their mistakes in grammar used.

Material from Ratnasari and Diah Indraswari

On 29 December 2014, the presentation was from Ratna and Diah. They were presented the material about Speaking Out Strategies. Speaking Out Strategies consist of some strategy, they are Chook House Strategy, Health Promotions, Think-Pair-Share, Toss a die, and Vox Pop Interviews. Before they start the presentation, as usual the presenter began the presentation by praying together. Then, they were introduced their partner one by one.
First speaker was Diah Indraswari. First strategy that she explained was chook house. In chook house she told us that the special character of this strategy is the house that like a chickens' house. That place is used to share students' opinion about the given issues or problem. Diah asked us to be students is Senior High School in First Grade. She asked us to prepare one piece of paper. That paper  was to write down the opinion about the given topic or issue. The topic was about abortion. Diah read an article about the topic and asked us to write down what the impact or effect in the health if someone did the abortion. After all the students finished to write down their opinion about the topic, then Diah invited all of the participant to share the opinion each other in front of the class in the designity area that called Chook House. After that, we were allowed to sit down, then Diah invited some students to share the opinion in front of the class. Then she gave us conclusion about the topic and our opinion.
The second strategy that Diah presented was Health Promotions. In this strategy Diah invited us to be students in Second Grade of Senior High School. Then, Diah asked us to make our groups that consist of two to three students. The students have to discuss with their group about the given topic. The topic was about smoking. Diah also asked us to draw one picture that consist of the inhibitions about smoking. Finally, Diah invited maybe one of the group to share their opinion and to explain the picture that they had draw in front of the class.
The third strategy was Think-Pair-Share Strategy. In this strategy, Diah invited us to be students in Senior High School in Second Grade. Then, she gave us one topic about alcohol. After that, Diah asked us to make a group in pair to discuss the topic. After we had done to discuss the topic in pair, then Diah invited maybe one or two groups to share the opinion with the partner in front of the class. Diah then gave us the conclusion.
The forth strategy that presented by Nana was Toss a die. In this strategy, Nana asked us to be students in Junior High School of Second Grade. She divided us to make groups that consist of five students. Then, Nana gave us two sheet of papers. One paper consist of exposure of the topic, one other consist of seven questions that related to the exposure of the topic. Besides that, she gave every groups one die or we usually called it "dadu" in Indonesian. Nana gave us some minutes to read and answer the questions. After the students finished to answer the questions, then Nana asked every groups to toss that die. That group must share their answer to the other groups based on what number that the die was seen. The discussion was stopped when all of the questions had been answered by the students except the last question or the question number seven.
The last strategy was Vox Pop Interviews. Vox Pop Interviews is interview someone in informally. In this strategy, Nana invited us to be students is Junior High School in Second Grade. In this strategy, Nana only invited two volunteers, they were Yudi and Satria. Yudi and Satria already got their dialogue from Nana. So, they just read that text in interview session.
I think their presentation was good. I just was to comment about Diah's topic. I think  those topic are already used in previous presentation. It is possible if Diah use different topic, because I think the participant will be bored if they always found same topic in every presentation. From Nana's presentation, I just want to comment the last topic that used in the last strategy. I think that topic is to difficult if we are teaching in Junior High School. In my opinion, it will be better if we only interview his/her family.
